I had no idea if I was only amusing myself when I started this blog nine months ago. I have been pleasantly surprised by visitors like you from many different locations.
I have had a lot of fun discovering people, photos and ideas from around the world as well as close to home.
Thank you stopping by, liking my posts and commenting. The interaction is a bonus I didn’t expect.
As the year winds its way down, I wish you all a Merry Christmas from our family to yours, wherever you call home.
It would be interesting if you left a comment indicating where you live since I’m not always sure.

Hi Lyle,
Well, I’ll cop to being a resident of your less-politically-enlightened neighbor to the south (the US), though I prefer to think of myself as a citizen of the world. 🙂
Thanks for all the great images and words. I notice we share some of the nicest, most discerning readers who appreciate gorgeous photography and brilliant writing. 😉
Best wishes for a great New Year, filled with incredible photo-ops…and tell your family a special “thanks” from me for letting you wander off unsupervised to get all the awesome pics you post!

PS Also, thanks for always finding the time to post a comment to my blog. I hope to be better at reciprocating in 2013…

I have had some wonderful opportunities for unsupervised photography and it’s been a lot of fun to share them on the blog.
All the best with your photo endeavours.

Happy New Year from just outside of Washington, D.C. in Maryland. This is my first time visiting your blog, but I can see I’m going to have to add you to my long list of blogs to visit often. I just finished my first 365 project (though it was 366 this year) and have learned that I relate to what you’ve posted on your About page. It’s amazing how great a day can turn out just because a cute, little cardinal decided to pose for a picture during my trail walk or a hawk decided to hang out at the Tidal Basin and I was lucky enough to spot him. I’m still on the never-ending search for an owl. Best of luck to you in 2013!

Last Wed. we had a huge bald eagle land on the top of the largest pine tree in front of our house and beside being utterly amazed all I could think of was “Why isn’t Lyle here?”. Your pictures are amazing and the blog always leaves me with a smile. Keep up the good work as God has given you a great gift, Lyle. Merry Christmas and all the very best in 2013.

Best wishes to you and your family for a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year from Alexandria, Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. As you know from my numerous comments, I really enjoy your photos and your humor, but most of all I appreciate the support and encouragement that you provide to me and a lot of others (trust me, I am not stalking you, but we both follow a number of the same blogs and I can see how supportive you are of others too).

Hey, Lyle! I was introduced to your wonderful photography through a mutual friend, Arlene Martin. She knows I’m a “nature nut” and wannabe photographer. 🙂 Your photos inspire and your blog is always entertaining, witty, insightful, warm and personal. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents. I live in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, USA – “The Gateway To The Smokies” (The Great Smoky Mountains National Park). Have a very Merry, Blessed Christmas!

It has been fun to share and find others like you who are fascinated by nature and photography. It sounds like you live in an interesting place and I’m guessing those Smoky Mountains just might be photogenic. Merry Christmas.
