You’ve been working on this relationship and finally it all has come together. You’re focused on the same things and enjoying each others’ company. Life is good!
Then you notice that something is different … things are occasionally a little weird …
You’re not as close anymore and you look around to try to figure out what possibly could have caused this. Clearly it must be some sort of outside source …
Then somebody says something which drives the other person a bit crazy …
Days later just casually mentioning it still brings out the tears …
Avoiding eye contact sadly becomes the norm which is awkward in close quarters …
Body language starts to make it difficult to communicate …
And eventually you think wistfully of being in a happier state or a happier place …
Maybe even flying away somewhere out there …
But you have fond memories of a few days ago when life was good so you put in the effort to try again. Your efforts are rewarded! It’s so good that you end up living happily ever after …
Until a few days later …

Ravens are very interesting and you really told a nice story! And for me, one who loves gulls, would be very interesting to see some new photos with gulls.

I love imagining what animals are thinking when they do certain things. Nice raven photos and good story line. You wouldn’t happen to know if one of the raven’s name is Rhonda, would you? LOL Good post.

HA! I don’t think of ravens as being particularly forthright, or honourable, or loyal. Reminds me of some marriages…. 😉 Funny how you got them looking in completely opposite directions – helps the story tell itself.

So you don’t think highly of the ravens conduct? You may be on to something. Those two ravens seemed to look everywhere but never at each other. Can you trust someone who doesn’t look you in the eye?

Wonderful shots and entertaining commentary. If these ravens use Facebook, I am sure that they have selected “It’s complicated” for the status of their relationship–yes, that’s actually a choice (or at least it was, the last time that I checked).

They are ravens. In the past I haven’t been too keen on them but they are definitely growing on me. I continue to be surprised how large they are and that is an impressive beak! Sometimes I overlook the obvious beauty around me like ravens and gulls.

Thank you, indeed beauty has not to be complicated or particularly rare though I did not see a raven passing by. We have a lot of crows…are they cool? 🙂 Great pair you got there!

Great raven shots, Lyle: having snow around them always makes for challenging exposures if one wants to record details in their feathers. I particularly like your third to last photograph, great background, great detail and razor sharp beak.
