My good ending with Krahnpix has morphed into an entirely new beginning with Krahnicles!
In the months after signing off this blog, I found that my interest in photography had also waned. So I sold my camera gear and bought a snowblower – maybe it’s a Saskatchewan thing. Now I’m impatiently waiting for snow.
I still had a problem – I missed having a creative outlet. Then I got this crazy idea that I should become a cartoonist. The awkward part was that my drawing peaked somewhere around grade two. But why should that stop me?
I had all the tools – I liked to laugh, I liked cartoons and I enjoyed my own sense of humour. The icing on the cake was that occasionally other people laughed with me. What could possibly go wrong?
I came up with some template ideas, drew some stick figures in funny situations and was incredibly fortunate to find someone willing to draw my ideas. The fun began!
I have now bestowed upon myself the title of cartoonist! And I still smile at the idea of a cartoonist who can’t draw.
So a new blog is born – Krahnicles. I won’t be posting cartoons on this blog so I’d be honoured if you checked out the new site and maybe even signed up to follow along. I’m pretty sure one of these days I’ll come up with a funny idea.
Have a good winter everyone!

What a powerful looking snowblower! Good luck with getting the snow to fall soon in large quantities! ❄️❄️
I’m sure I was one of many that were sorry to see you stop blogging a while back. I’m looking forward to visiting your new site!

You what? You sold your camera gear and bought a snowplow?? You could have at least donated the camera gear to Australia 🙂 See you over at the new blog.

I will miss your beautiful Pictures my friend. Look forward to newer subjects as an old man now without snow in the southern parts of India.

I appreciate that. I have never lived a winter without snow – that would be quite different.

I truly will miss your exceptional wildlife photos, as well as the novel commentary. However, I am also a firm believer in “change” to keep things interesting in life. So, I applaud your new adventure in cartooning. Best wishes to you, Sue.

How did you shoot the snowblower without your camera? Heading over to your new incarnation.

I used the excuse of selling my cameras to get an iPhone 7 which has a pretty good camera. And my wife was obliging enough to take the shot.
Thanks for checking out the new incarnation.

I was wondering what became of you…that is quite a metamorphosis from wildlife photographer to cartoonist. I can’t believe you sold the camera equipment, though! Our election year down here should give you plenty of material for your new blog, for a long, long time to come. It feels like a cartoon to many of us.

This transition has been a bit of a wild ride but I’ve quite enjoyed it. I kept some money from gear sales in case I want to go back but no regrets.
That US election had more twists than an adventure novel. No need for fiction.
As I’m trying to look at life from a new perspective, it’s surprising how much of our life feels like a cartoon. I’m having fun with it.

It’s entirely possible the camera angle may have exaggerated things a bit:)
