Ready … set …

coots on wire.jpg

Wait a minute … look over here! There’s supposed to be a race starting.

So why would I post an interview with myself? It turns out everyone else had better things to do!

Just another confusing day at Krahnpix.
So what’s been going on with Krahnpix? Does it still have a pulse? I’ve heard nothing but crickets since July.

Not much to report. In fact nothing at all.

Too bad that isn’t true. You seem to have found time to mess with the blog design. Couldn’t leave well enough alone eh?

Now that you mention it, I did tweak the design a bit. I was getting a little bored with the old one.

Change for change sake! Bad idea. So now you got rid of all the navigation buttons – I can’t find anything! And it took me forever to find that tiny comment icon in the bottom left corner so I could tell you what I thot of this design. What were you thinking?

Well I confess my preference does lean to the subtle side. I figure if smart people keep clicking around they’ll eventually find them. Besides everyone knew where the old ones were – have to keep them guessing.

I thot you were supposed to be taking August off to write blog posts not ruining a perfectly good blog site. The last time I checked it’s well into September. Those crickets are soon going to freeze to death.

Well um … that plan didn’t quite work out.

So how many posts did you write?

If I include this one and the ideas that are nearly posts, that brings the total to … how do I say this delicately … one.

And I changed the blog design. To be fair there’s a lot of distracting work involved with that.

Good grief you and that stupid design. You spent all of August “tweaking.”

Well no … I only started work on the design in September. I started thinking about blogging again and figured this would be a good time to change things up. Start fresh.

Sounds like some serious procrastination and misdirected energy to me.

You gotta do what you do best.

Did you at least take some photos?

I kept the wildlife around here in running order. There’s surprising satisfaction in adding to my wildlife butt collection.

That sounds about as productive as not writing blog posts. So what prompted you to interrupt your procrastinating long enough to humour us with another blog – such as it is?

Well I wanted to wait long enough to collect all the requests from adoring fans pleading with me to restart blogging.

Let me guess, you’ve heard nothing but crickets?

I really should have got a photo of a cricket. I think it would have worked well with this post.

So this whole bloggy thing is all about you?

Pretty much. Well as much fun as this has been, I’ve got to go. There are some cracks in the blog design that are crying out for duct tape and I have more writing procrastinating to enjoy.

And just for the record, I still think Krahnpix is a silly title for the blog. Who else has a name like that?

Exactly!

A previous interview with myself – in the unlikely chance this wasn’t more than enough.
Enjoying another prairie sunset.

Just hanging out in another prairie sunset that set the water on fire.

Well good to see you back! It is you right?!?
You know I’m not good with change, now I have to get used to the all new look. This is a bit unsettling, I think I need a cookie.
    And hey, cool coot pics!

Well I think it’s me. I’ll have to check!

I don’t know what I was thinking. I should have put a cookie photo on the first page to make you feel more comfortable.

Glad you liked those lined up coots.

Kind of odd….I don’t see a box for comments unless I click on one of the reply arrows.
Why not interview yourself? Best way to have an intelligent conversation. 🙂

I love playing around with blog design, but since I actually paid real money for my current one, I daren’t change it now. I’ve never got around to tweaking it.

I love your new blog design, but took my dim cognitive functions ages to find the comment thingey too.

Change is as good as a holiday, anyway.

Yes this design is a lot more subtle and I wondered if people would search a bit for it. Glad you persisted. You make an excellent point about changes. In areas where we welcome change, it can be quite invigorating!

Glad you’re back, and relieved. Have been checking your blog periodically and while I adore “silence,” the silence here was beginning to be a little worrisome.

Let me explain. Like many, I follow many blogs. And like many, I don’t read many (or any) blogs daily. Last week, I set myself the task of visiting every blog I follow, starting with the earliest ones to which I subscribed. This will take a couple of weeks at my reading pace.

Sadly, I learned that two bloggers I have been following for more than a year had passed away this past July, from in memorium posts placed on their blogs by loved ones…

These were people I didn’t know IRL, yet the tears came so easily.

Anyway, very glad you’re back, Lyle, with your sense of humor intact!

At the beginning of your comments, I expected that you would tell me that the bloggers had quit which I have noticed quite frequently since I started. I was shocked to hear they passed away.

Good for you to follow up on all those blogs. That could take some effort.

Yes I’m back and the eclectic sense of humour is still there. I shall see where it all leads. Hopefully to another post. I know now if wait too long you will be worried.

Thanks, Lyle, funny thing is that I am not a worrier by nature. Not at all. Looking forward to more of your amusing posts and spectacular photos. Do you take requests? More wolves, foxes, and hawks, please.

Gosh, you’re so hard on yourself! Next time you grant yourself an interview you should demand pre-publication approval to be sure you don’t misquote you. You can’t trust the media!
Glad you’re back 🙂 and love the coots.

I was wondering where you went off to, but I figured you were busy with your new grandchild. I see you found a family of Coots to photograph. Beautiful photo!

Cricket photo? I worked in computing long ago. The engineers wanted to make a statement about how slow the systems were, so they made a cartoon with a skeleton at a workstation with cobwebs on it, with the caption something along the lines of waiting for Pro/Engineer (a mechanical engineering design package) to come up and posted it on the wall near the manager’s office.

I like it! I have been wanting to re-configure my blog for ages, but not brave enough to tweak, let alone completely redesign the look as you have. I look forward to more exciting nature tales from the new Krahnpix.

Great redesign and from personal experience I know how long a “simple” change like that can take! Plus, what a great first posting to have an interview with such a well-known Canadian photographer. Cool. And, want to add my vote that we can all hopefully start seeing some new post again soon.

lol, thanks for the laugh! The new look of your blog isn’t bad thus not my fave theme. I know is a pain if you need a change of it…for mine, i gave up because it supposed to rearrange every text not that I have many words in mine thus it was a titanic work…so no way. I guess is more important what you have to say than how is your outfit today, right? And yes, the blog by its mean is about I ( ai) afer all.

We most certainly have reached the “hawks on bales” season and I’ve been enjoying it. One photo comes to mind – I may just have to post it. I’m impressed that you remembered.
