It’s kind of hard once I have seen both images side by side to say I prefer one over the other. Both are excellent and both are different. One is more an overall scenic while I other is shown in closer detail. I realize I’m stating the obvious here so I suppose it comes down to what you wish to present as the key feature that most impressed you. It kind of sounds like that tighter view had the most impact on you so it may be best to key in on that.
Hope this made some sort of sense. 🙂

I definitely liked the tighter shot better but suspected others would like the wider view. The beauty of cropping is that it gives you options.
