He’s taking a picture Gertrude! Quick extend your wings so you don’t look so frumpy!

Does the post make me look thin? No really, does it? (And try to ignore that photobombing dragonfly.)

This fluffing out in the cold adds a few feather sizes! I don’t like it.

A barbed wire definitely trims me up. I’m just not sure how.

Hmm … I seem to be making more waves than I remember. Now why would that be?

If I stick to a low-fat diet, I can eat as much as you want. Right?

Another Lyle Krahn master class – but the Bison mainly because of the look and clarity of shot wins the day – glad your not a member of my camera club.

I will pass on your comments to the bison but I’ll probably just get another dirty look.

What a diverse series ~ and the three birds shot with the white background, is great…nice and fluffy I think is how they’d like to be described 🙂 Striking shots Lyle, and of course the humor put a smile in the day. Cheers!

Nice and fluffy sounds about right. They needed all of that in the cold! Glad you enjoyed the post.

Great shots Lyle. Love the Bison photo like everyone else. Where did you go to find him?

Thx. The wild bison was at Elk Island National Park near Edmonton, Alberta. It’s a preserve for the bison in their natural state.

Gorgeous photos. The dragonfly (which I had to hunt for) looks like a mini helicopter.

Thanks for looking. I like it when there are little secrets buried in the photo. It does look like a helicopter.

I appreciate that. I’m quite drawn to that intimidating look for some reason.

I guess to a critter, the fatter the better. Means things are rosy. Beautiful photos Lyle, and really entertaining, cute post. Mr. Bison looks like he might be saying something though with that stare. Maybe a Mrs. The tail is strategically positioned.

It’s a Mrs. – you can tell by ‘the look’:) That photo is one of my favourites for that reason. So maybe the fatter I get the rosier things are for me too. I could work with that. Glad you enjoyed the post.

Like all the others, I love that buffalo shot. He seems to be a bit annoyed with you and the way you chose to pose him. “Are you sure this pose doesn’t may my butt look big?” The other shots are wonderful as well, though I must confess that I had to look several times to find the photobombing dragonfly–he blends right in with the barbed wire. The angle of view in the bear shot is incredible. It’s like you were sitting in the grass along with the bear picking dandelions. I’m assuming that is not what you were doing.

I quite like the buffalo shot as well. Those looks with attitude usually do it for me. As for bear shot, it turns out I was sitting but in the safety of my vehicle. Appreciate the comments.

That buffalo shot is pretty epic, but then I realized the bear is really awesome too. Evidently, several people have been attacked by bison in Yellowstone this year while they took selfies with them. You weren’t one of those, were you?

They say to stay 25 yards away which is actually quite reasonable given the size of the creature. When we were down there a couple of years ago, the locals told me of tourists trying to put their child on the bison. It’s amazing there aren’t a lot more attacks – there should would be if the roles were reversed.

Have to agree with Lavinia. Would like to see you say that to the buffalo’s face… then again, maybe not. I’d probably miss your posts and your great shots.

I tend to do my brave talk from the safety of a vehicle! But it’s nice to know I’d be missed if I get stupidly brave.

This old Coot says those are beautiful photos, Lyle! The buffalo in the first shot looks to be saying, “FAT?? Who you calling FAT???? Come here and say that!”.

Glad you enjoyed them. Thankfully if the buffalo was saying that I missed it. She’s in a whole different weight class than me!
