Rocky Mountain ladies have a lot of stuff to strut.
The Three Sisters always give the good residents of Canmore, AB reason to smile. On this perfect June day, the taller little sister shows off a long, snow-covered skirt that eventually rises to a distinctive peak. The middle sister reveals a large sheer cliff, topped off with a majestic band of soft light. The big sister sports numerous craggy cliffs and an impressive snow-spotted, ridge cap.
Each sister is distinctively dappled in evening light that is darkening the already mysterious clouds.
Further north in the Rockies, the mighty Lady Pyramid faithfully watches over Patricia Lake. Despite the cool, windy October day, or maybe because of it, she turns heads from miles around with a gorgeous bold face highlighted with reddish rock cliffs and a distinctive band of lilly-white snow. Today she is sprinkled with fresh powder that softens the colour of the trees and brightens the impressive rock faces that reach for the sky.
At this moment, she’s coyly hiding her peak behind some quickly moving clouds. giving her an unusually dappled mid-day appearance.
Breathtaking! I so love the mountains and you’ve captured the essence of them that I cherish!

I love the mountains too but I often find my photos don’t capture what I felt as I stood before them. These came closer. I really appreciate the comment.

I was in the Rockies in late July. I want to just get a cabin disconnect the internet and write for three months. Sigh.
