I knew that goslings were cute. What I didn’t know was that they have important life lessons to share. Here’s 10 lessons – worth every penny you paid.

1. Don’t get too easily distracted – focus on the journey ahead.

2. Keep looking back – it helps to remember where you came from.

3. Look for simple remedies first. If it itches, scratch it.

4. Stick your head up once in a while – it gives you a different perspective and makes you look like a leader.

5. Keep your head down so no one focuses on you – It’s easier to stay out of trouble.

6. Admire your good attributes … and don’t worry if those feet seem a little large.

7. Trust your instincts. If it looks like food, eat it.

8. Figure out what you’re good at and do it well.

9. Listen carefully before you speak.

10. Stick with your mama even if she looks a bit stunned now and then. You probably made her that way.

Glad you liked them. It’s easier to write out life lessons than to actually live them – just like executing football plays.

I think Lyle has cloned himself and there is 3 or 4 Lyles out there getting all these amazing wildlife shots.. Once again my hat is off to you Lyle Krahn spectacular photos and excellent advise for man and gosling….

Thanks. I may have to find those clones and see what they are up to:) Glad you enjoyed it.

Nice, where do goslings rank on you’re bird scale. They are irresistible – the commentary is perfect!
LikeLike
Ah yes the old bird likeability scale – I had to check back on that. When I come out with version 2.0, I may have to add another point category for babies since they seem to be a lot cuter and far more irresistible than the adults. Good point! Glad you enjoyed the post.

I think baby ducks and geese should get bonus points – irresistibility points.

That’s a great way to describe it.

Beautiful shots. When I saw the subject matter I thought that someone was masquerading as you, Lyle. It is well established that you have a predisposition for predators. However, when I read the captions, I knew immediately that it was in fact you. Your sense of humor is, how should I say, “inimitable.” Like many others, I chuckled at the life lessons that accompanied the photos.

Glad you liked them. You’re right about the predators but I hate to be too predictable and those goslings really caught my eye. Inimitable sounds like a great aspiration and it’s a wonderful word.

Those are so adorable… We have so many geese arround here all year… My kids were holding baby ducks they were rescuing on Friday… Mama had 9 babies and lost 2 that the kids couldn’t save from city sewer drain. But they did save several. She still had 7 end of the day.

Good for them on the successful rescues. It’s a tough world out there sometimes for the little ones.

I was pleasantly surprised how accommodating the geese were. The second time they came towards me and started to perform so then I had to have a little fun with it.
