It’s a bit awkward
We’re in the same space
No one arranged it
No one is in charge
We both look good
It’s the golden hour
We stare without blinking
We are both intrigued
I take some photos
The deer checks me out
The meeting ends
We both leave
The landscape still looks good
She’s beautiful….congrats. for this great capture, and the little poem!

Dear Lyle, It is simply brilliant. I feel it is The Lord’s will that you should shoot with the camera and present the trophy to the world to enjoy His creations.God bless you. Continue with this good work. Regards, Ganesh.

Thanks for the comment – I really appreciate it. Some days it is frustrating not getting what I want and then there are other times that it all comes together. I suppose that’s the way life is. I am drawn to taking these photos and will continue.

Such a sweet face! We were just up close and personal with deer this last weekend… Kids wet laughing at how two would stand up on hind legs and with front legs in the air bat at the others until they moved over. The fight for the small patches of new green grass.

That sounds like a fun experience and well worth a few photos! The new grass probably ranks as a gourmet meal.

You managed to capture a magical moment, a moment of beauty and peace, a moment when the deer’s natural instinct to flee was trumped by its curiosity. In rare moments like this, time seems to stand still and senses are heightened. Fortunately for us, you were not so mesmerized by the golden hour that you neglected to get the shot, and what a wonderful shot.

You are so right about time standing still – it’s just a lot of fun to experience. I have never been able to push myself to hide in a blind and I think one of the reasons is that I like enjoy being in the presence of wildlife when they know I am there but are tolerant or curious.

I too would have a tough time hiding in a blind, waiting for something to happen. Most of the time I prefer to search out the action.

You even got her eyelashes! Nice… Love the comment about the landscape. Pithy may be the right word.

Yes we were up close and personal. Pithy is one of my favourite words and always a goal to strive towards.
